Issue/Introduction

Customer would like to block videos for specific Youtube channels for its users

Environment

Release : PROXY SGOS

Resolution

  • At the moment there is no feature or plans for ProxySG functionality to allow/block videos from the specific Youtube channels as it relies on Youtube API provided by Google.
  • ProxySG appliance can only recognize the categories that YouTube uses to classify its own content and obtains these categories from the YouTube Data API v2.0.
  • Customer can only allow/block videos depending on it’s categories after enabling the feature in Proxy > Configuration> Content-Filtering > General > Youtube tab and creating a VPM policies for filtering user's traffic.
