Db2 Cobol program using Smart/RRSAF abends in program DSNAPRH with S04E REASON 00E50013

Issue/Introduction

A program intermittently abends in module DSNAPRH and when restarted it runs to normal completion. This program uses Smart/RRSAF connection.


The following are the Smart/RRSAF messages returned:

DCA123I - Smart/RRSAF r20.0.00 connected to ssid via RRSAF              
DCA125I - A Db2 accounting record will be written upon program exit     
DCA011I - Thread created for application plan xxxxxx                    
RAI998E - Abend  S 04E detected in subtask DCA      Reason = 00E50013   
DCA129E - The Smart/RRSAF abend handler detected an application failure 
DCA130E - A S04E ABEND has occurred                                     
DCA016I - Smart/RRSAF processing completed

Resolution

The problem was discovered that a Db2 reorg utility that specifies FORCE READERS canceled the Db2 batch job.
