Autosys SMTP Email Notification gives error "CAUAJM_E_20214 Email notification failed for job <XXX>. Detail information <Couldn't connect to server>"

Issue/Introduction

SMTP/Email Notifications in Autosys results in error: 

[11/29/2022 05:47:52]     CAUAJM_I_20216 Email notification pending for job <XXX>.
[11/29/2022 05:48:00]     ----------------------------------------
[11/29/2022 05:48:13]     CAUAJM_E_20214 Email notification failed for job <XXX>. Detail information <Couldn't connect to server>.

12.x

Cause

Autosys 12.x only supports NON-SSL communication for SMTP servers. 

Support for SSL/TLS is yet to be implemented.

 

Resolution

It is recommended to use NON-SSL SMTP communications.

Example configuration maybe through a relay server without SSL on it: 

NotifySMTPHost=relay.smtp.example.com
