Some probes are not starting after UIM Upgrade using silent installer

Issue/Introduction

After a successful upgrade of UIM using the "silent install" method, one or more probes are in a deactivated (gray) state.

The probe versions appear to have been successfully upgraded and no errors are seen in the installation log.

 

Environment

Release :
This issue has been seen with DX UIM 20.3 upgrading to 20.4, and also upgrading from 20.4 GA to 20.4 CU10 but it could impact other versions.

Resolution

This issue has not been seen frequently but in each case observed so far, the probes could all be started manually without error.

Activate these probes first in the following order:

distsrv
data_engine
alarm_enrichment
nas
ems

After this you may start the remaining probes in any order.
