Invalid object name 'ARRFSERVERS' observed after upgrading Risk Authentication from 8.2.x to 9.1

Issue/Introduction

Customer have upgraded AA RBA from 8.2 to 9.1 in a POC environment. After the upgrade activities Risk Authentication Services and Case management Services were running. But below error was showing in logs.

"Tue Oct 25 12:06:23.424 2022 INFO:    pid 8800 tid 6488: 2: 0: Dbm::ArDBPoolManagerImpl::checkPool:executeQuery:SQLExecute : SQL State:42S02, Native Code: D0, ODBC code: [CA AA][ODBC SQL Server Wire Protocol driver][Microsoft SQL Server]Invalid object name 'ARRFSERVERS'" 

Environment

Release: Advanced Authentication - 9.1

OS: Win 2019

DB: MSSQL2019

Cause

Database upgrade did not go well

 

Resolution

The database upgrade is not done properly will result into the issue. The customer should take back up of the database and export all the configuration and redo the upgrade. Please follow the below steps to install the upgrade software and configure it:

  1. Create a backup of the ARCOT_HOME folder and the database.
  2. Stop the Risk Authentication Service and the Risk Authentication Case Management Service.
  3. Run the following DB scripts and start the services
    • db-config-for-common-8.x-to-9.1.sql
    • db-config-for-riskauth-8.x-to-9.1.sql
    • db-config-for-3dsecure-8.x-to-9.1.sql
  4. Start the Risk Authentication Service and the Risk Authentication Case Management Service. 

Note: Please monitor for any errors in the database after running the upgrade scripts.
