Can UIM check if a process is started by using another metric other than the pid?

Issue/Introduction

Need further information on whether or not UIM can check if a process is started by using another metric other than the PID?

Environment

• Release: 20.4
• processes probe, any version

Resolution

Using the processes probe you can use the process information which opens a dialog containing the following information which you can use to identify and monitor a given process:

1. The name of the selected process.

2. The PID (process identifier number).

3. The full path/binary path / command line of the process.

After you choose how to recognize the process, use the test button to make sure it yields a single process.

Then you can generate an alarm when the process is up or down.
