Remove Obsolete JRE Version

Issue/Introduction

As part of Plex software package, JRE version 6 & 7 got installed on user machines over years of upgrade. Our cybersecurity team has raised a concern on using the obsolete version of JRE. How can we get rid of them?

Environment

Release : 7.21 and higher

Resolution

Please follow these steps

• Save all changes and shutdown the Plex IDE
• Rename the JRE folder in C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\SharedComponents
• Extract the JRE folder from the latest Plex build that matches your Plex version and copy this JRE folder to C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\SharedComponents
• Start Plex IDE and test
• Once the test goes well without issue, you can delete the renamed JRE folder in C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\SharedComponents
