VIP Enterprise Gateway manual upgrade fails with message "Usage: actionScript.bat Package_Location Patch_Ver..."

Issue/Introduction

Manual upgrade of the VIP Enterprise Gateway fails with:

Usage:
        actionScript.bat Package_Location Patch_Version
        Package_Location - Location of the Extracted patch directory. (Eg: C:\temp\vipeg_patch_windows)
        Patch_Version - Version to be applied.(Eg: 9.8.0)

Cause

• VIP Enterprise Gateway install location is not set or not accurate.

Resolution

Open an administrator command prompt and run one of the following commands (specific to existing VIP version) prior to running the upgrade:

VIP Enterprise Gateway 9.9.2 or lower:

• set "VRSN_MAUTH_HOME="C:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\VIP_Enterprise_Gateway""

VIP Enterprise Gateway 9.10.0 or higher:

• set "VRSN_MAUTH_HOME=C:\Program Files\Symantec\VIP_Enterprise_Gateway"

 

If receiving the following error: {"==" unexpected at this time} (while running the actionScript.bat upgrade command), then rerun the set command and ensure that there are no additional quotation marks ("")
