Issue/Introduction

We recently upgraded Autosys to 12.0. Our backend database for AEDB & WCCDB is on Microsoft SQL 2012.
Can we upgrade Clienttools & OSQL to Microsoft SQL 2014?

Can we keep AEDB & WCCDB on Microsoft SQL 2012 and upgrade Client Tools & OSQL in Autosys server to Microsoft SQL 2014?
We currently do not plan to upgrade AEDB/WCCDB database instance but would like to upgrade only Client Tools & OSQL.

Resolution

That is a question for your DBA to answer.
We do not see any reason to upgrade the client tools if you are not updating your SQL server instance.

Support believes the 2014 client tools are compatible with SQL 2012 but our QA department does not test this combination.
Your DBA and MS will have to confirm if this is supported.

The application can use any of the client tools between 2012 and 2019
