Issue/Introduction

We are migrating to version 10.1 from version 9.3, unfortunately we encountered some problems during the migration with the cluster passphrase.

"Error creating bean with name 'clusterSharedKey' defined in class path resource [com/l7tech/server/resources/ssgApplicationContext.xml]: Invocation of init method failed; nested exception is com.l7tech.objectmodel.FindException: could not decrypt shared key: Given final block not properly padded. Such issues can arise if a bad key is used during decryption."

The provided cluster passphrase is correct and we tried to change it from the ssg menu without success

Environment

Release : 10.1

Resolution

There is a issue with changing the cluster passphrase after the initial configuration when it has a special characters like <>

Workaround is to use the correct password at the initial database configuration  So delete the current config and database , create a new config and database and specify the cluster passphrase with this special character

Then restore the GW 9.x database and do the upgrade.

This will be fixed in GW 10.1 CR3
