Unable to open the "Executable File Rule" or "Multimedia File Rule" after upgrading to SMSMSE 7.10

Issue/Introduction

Attempts to open the "Executable File Rule" or "Multimedia File Rule" after upgrading to Symantec Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange (SMSMSE) 7.10 result in the error "A fatal error has occurred.  The application will now close" is displayed and the GUI crash.

Environment

Release : 7.10

Resolution

1. Export the SMSMSE settings using the steps below
   1. Open the SMSMSE console
   2. Click File -> Export...
   3. Click "Ok"
   4. Select a filename and location to save the file and click "Save"
2. Create a support case and upload the resulting file to the case for review
