Issue/Introduction

What access rights are needed for the OS User deploying Clarity on Windows Server?

Resolution

  • The user who will run the Clarity service needs to be Local Administrator
  • They have to have Full Permissions to the Clarity directory, Java and Tomcat directory
  • They should be able to access the Services.msc and be able to add/deploy/start/edit/stop services there
  • Failure to grant these rights can lead to different issues such as error messages when starting/stopping the services, upgrading, hanging when deploying a service, "Access Denied" and such
  • Permissions are required to be able to run and administer Clarity
