Email sending fails sporadically with SMTP_MSG_RCPTTO SMTP_MSG_DATA Protocol error

Issue/Introduction

Randomly, on a node with a multiple Email notifications set at Uproc level, some Emails are not sent properly and the following appears in the universe.log:
