MacOS Airdrop not working when WSSA is enabled

Issue/Introduction

When WSS is enabled for Mac, the Airdrop feature of the macOS stops working.

Environment

• All macOS versions
• WSS via SEP, Web and Cloud Protection, or direct to WSS

Cause

Broadcom Engineering investigated this issue and determined that there is an Apple defect with the macOS kernel when handling traffic after it passes through (and is bypassed from) a network extension.

Resolution

This issue must be addressed by Apple. Customers with an Enterprise Apple support account may contact bugreport.apple.com.
