Issue/Introduction

You may find the installation bracket on the optional interface card (NIC card) does not fit in the product appliance.

Resolution

Some optional interface cards (NIC cards) can be used on different product appliances. If the default bracket installed on the interface card does not fit in the product chassis slot, then you will need to select the correct bracket from the accessory kit and reinstall it on the card.

Here is the list that shows how to select the bracket 425-xxxxx SKU used on the interface card 085-xxxxx SKU and identified per appliance platform / product model.  

Please make sure that you are using the correct bracket and do not force the bracket into the appliance if the bracket does not fit. 

 

Please review the installation instruction for the optional interface card, and the bracket selection of "Low Profile", "Full Height", "Standard Height", and "Long Standoff" versus the chassis slot in the product manual available on the Broadcom support website.

Additional Information

There are 4 types of brackets:

• 2-port low profile
• 2-port full height (= standard height)
• 4-port low profile
• 4-port full height (= standard height)
