Time Slicing Job Fails Intermittently and rarely

Time slicing job fails sometimes (not very often) and the error message is not conclusive. It happens roughly once per two weeks and we are not able to reproduce on demand, how can we proceed with this?

  • Review the bg-ca.logs, see how often the Time Slicing fails
  • The general recommendation is to ignore the Time Slicing errors.
  • The Time Slicing job is meant to run every minute, which is 1440 times a day. If a couple of them fail in a fortnight, or even in a day, it is fine.
  • The job is designed in a way that would handle few deadlocks and other failures in a day without affecting data in UI.
