Issue/Introduction

Edge extension not loading properly.

Agent events show Edge extension loaded, followed by another event regarding the Edge extension is not loaded.

Cause

If the agent is restarted while only Startup Boost instances of msedge.exe are running, and brkrprcs64.exe is not, the "extension not deployed" agent event is generated.

This causes the agent to report a warning status.

Resolution

Broadcom advises customers to disable startup boost via GPO, however, manually disabling startup boost can be used to verify the solution.

Manually disabling Startup Boost within Microsoft Edge

  1. Go to edge://settings/system
  2. Locate "Startup Boost"
  3. Toggle the setting to the OFF position.
  4. Restart Microsoft Edge browser.
  5. Restart the DLP Endpoint Agent.

Disabling Startup Boost via GPO

Review StartupBoostEnabled setting on Microsofts website.
