Issue/Introduction

When running a Policy Server, what's the impact on the runtime without a Session Store for a few seconds, when there's one configured and in use?

Resolution

All requests on persistent realms and Federation will fail for the few seconds the Session Store isn't available.

Policy Server needs the Session Store to read and write session data into it just after processing the request.

There's no cache of the session data on the Policy Server side before writing to the Session Store.

Make the restart when the environment has a low load.

Test the restart procedure in a lower environment before going live with it.
