TSS0301 EXPORT FUNCTION FAILED when exporting certificate

Issue/Introduction

The following messages are appearing when trying to export certificates on Top Secret:

TSS0301I EXPORT FUNCTION FAILED, RETURN CODE = 8

CCSR010E SAFCRX12 SEC6 at 0AB43AE8 LMOD BPXINLPA CSECT N/A +N/A TSSPA N/A TSSPA

Cause

When an ACID without the OMVS segment tries to export a certificate using the TSS EXPORT command, the above error messages are expected.

Resolution

To manipulate certificates the ACID must have an OMVS segment properly set. The OMVS fields can be added to the ACID with the following command:

TSS ADD(acid) UID(nnn) GROUP(yourgroup) DFLTGRP(yourdfltgrp)
