TSS0301I in TSS GENREQ/EXPORT command

Issue/Introduction

Issuing a TSS GENREQ or EXPORT command results in the following message:

TSS0301I GENREQ/EXPORT FUNCTION FAILED, RETURN CODE = 4

 

Environment

Component:

Cause

The DCDSN is pre-allocated.

Resolution

The DCDSN dataset must not be pre-allocated.

The allocation of the dataset is part of the TSS GENREQ/EXPORT command execution.

Pre-allocation will result in trying to allocate a duplicate dataset and therefore, the command fails with a:

TSS0301I GENREQ FUNCTION FAILED, RETURN CODE = 4
