Can we map Roles in Jasper with Roles in SDM

Issue/Introduction

Is it possible to assign a role in Jasper that corresponds to the role that the user is logged into in Service Desk?

Environment

Release : 17.3

Resolution

SDM user's function access is mapped to Jasper roles. In SDM we have three function access, NONE, VIEW, MODIFY, accordingly Jasper roles are are mapped  as per below table:

 

SDM Function access	Jasper Roles
NONE	ROLE_USER, ROLE_NONE
VIEW	ROLE_USER, ROLE_VIEW
MODIFY	ROLE_USER, ROLE_MODIFY,ROLE_REPORT_DESIGNER

If a user is not eligible to see the particular data in SDM, that user will not see that data from Jasper reports as well.
