Issue/Introduction

This article describes how to launch the Applications Manager Java Client using a Windows batch script.

This method is effective when the RunClient.jar fails to launch via double-clicking or if launching via batch script is preferred.

Symptoms:

• Double-clicking RunClient.jar does not open the Applications Manager login screen.
• The issue persists after updating environment variables (JAVA_HOME, PATH).
• Running java -jar RunClient.jar from a command prompt works, but the desktop shortcut fails.

Environment

Applications Manager 9.5 and above
Windows OS

Resolution

1. Navigate to the directory where RunClient.jar is located.
2. Create a new text file and rename it to launch_client.bat.
3. Right-click the file and select Edit.
4. Add the following command (adjust the path to your specific Java installation):
   cmd

   start "C:\Program Files\Java\jdk-17\bin\javaw.exe" -jar RunClient.jar

5. Save and close the file.
6. Double-click launch_client.bat to start the client.
