Issue/Introduction

Is there a better way for OPSMVS to send some sort of notification as soon as we get a new system request?

We created an OPS/MVS time rule to run D R,R (known/familiar/backlisted, ie, IDMS, Netview WTOR).  This sends an email alert that there is a new system request, i.e., any outstanding replies pending. We set this time rule to run for 15mins.

This could be one of the possible uses of the new feature "Default Automation for Critical System Messages"   introduced by the PTF LU06695. With the new feature you can create a default message rule that will be triggered only if no other message rule took any actions against the message. The sample we provide will populate a RDF table but you can include any other actions you may think are appropriate. See the announcement in the link below:
