Notifications count/badge not displaying any number

Issue/Introduction

The bell icon does not display the notifications count/badge in some circumstances. Refreshing the page does not seem to help.

Environment

Release : 16.0.2

Component : Clarity MUX UI Usability

Cause

The notification count/badge is polled every few minutes (around 2-3 minutes).

Resolution

This is working as designed. The notifications will be there when clicking on the notification icon, but its count/badge refreshes every 2-3 minutes and also during login - however page refresh or navigating to other Modern UX pages do not have effect in forcing them to appear.
