Issue/Introduction

The connection object to a SQL database fails when using Windows Authentication but not when using SQL Authentication.

U02012064 Login failed for user 'AUTOMIC\LDAP'. ClientConnectionId:xxx-xxx-xxx-xxx-xxx

Environment

Release : 12.3+

Component : Automic Automation

Cause

When setting the connection properties to integratedSecurity to true, the agent now needs to connect with a Microsoft User.

Resolution

Make sure that the agent is started with the proper user. This can be enforced on the Service Manager Dialog by right-clicking on the agent and selecting properties. Set the Username, Domain, and Password then restart the agent. The connection test should show as successful.

If it is successful, it means that the user with which the Service Manager service was started, lacks the following policies-

Act as part of the operating system
Adjust memory quotas for a process
Allow log on locally
Back up files and directories **)
Logon as batch job *)
Logon as service
Replace a process level token
Restore files and directories
