Support is required for the Version 7 counter values in the SMF type
113 subtypes 1 and 2 records created by z/OS LPARs running on IBM z16
Central Processing Complexes (CPCs), in the following files in the MICS
Hardware and SCP Analyzer (RMF) component:
FILES: HARCME - CPU Measurement Facility Engine File
HARCMT - CPU Measurement Facility EngType File
HARCML - CPU Measurement Facility LPAR File
Additionally, updates are required so that the sp.GENLIB(RMFGENIN)
OPTION statement HIS keyword supports "z16" as a valid CPC identifier,
and that use of the "+" modifier on an earlier CPC, for example
HIS(z13+) or HIS(z14+) results in the inclusion of z16 specific data
elements in the HARCME, HARCML, and HARCMT files.
SYMPTOMS
When SMF type 113 records, generated by a z/OS LPAR running on an
IBM z16 CPC, are present in the //INPUTSMF data file, the following
messages are found in the DAY020 or INCR020 MICSLOG:
RMF00120W SMF 113 records deleted from unknown CPC models.
RMF00120W Note: Only first 100 SYSIDs listed.
RMF00120W
RMF00120W Unknown 113-1 113-2 Total
RMF00120W ORGSYS SYSID CPC Model Deletes Deletes Deletes
RMF00120W ------ ------ ---------------- ------- ----------- -------
RMF00121W SYSx SYSp 3931 nnn nnn nnnn
Additionally, if "z16" is specified as a CPC type argument for the
sp.GENLIB(RMFGENIN) OPTION statement HIS keyword, execution of the
component generator job, sp.CNTL(RMFCGEN) fails with an U0998 ABEND
and the following MICSLOG messages:
RMF00600I OPTION HIS(z16)
RMF00603E RMFGENIN OPTION HIS() PARM ERROR detected
RMF00604E -- Invalid CPC listed in HIS(string): z16
BAS20990I CURRENT LINE: OPTION HIS(z16)
BAS20991E RMFCGEN option errors encountered. RMFCGEN aborted.

RMF7180 - IBM CPU Measurement Facility Support for z16 SMF Type 113 Records
All CPU Measurement Facility data is rejected for z/OS LPARs running
on IBM z16 CPCs, resulting in no z16 Hardware Instrumentation Services
(HIS) information in the HARCME, HARCMT, or HARCML files. Additionally
"z16" cannot be specified as a CPU type for the sp.GENLIB(RMFGENIN)
OPTION statement HIS keyword.
