Issue/Introduction

Receiving the following error when user resets password and email is to be sent.

"Request Failed.  Calling webservice Reset My Password failed.

Failed to execute SendEmailEvent ERROR MESSAGE PxEnvironmentException on Error sending email.  

 

Environment

Release : 14.4

Component : Virtual Appliance

Cause

This is due to no mail server setup

Resolution

Configure email properties for Identity Manager at /opt/CA/VirtualAppliance/custom/IdentityManager.

email.properties

Defines SMTP host, port, SSL, TLS, user name, and password in the file ,and then restarts Identity Manager service.
