Issue/Introduction

Running Ca7 BTI with the following input : -

/LOGON userid
/OPERIDS,ID=ALL
/LOGOFF

A Report is generated but also the following messages in ERRORS DD:

CA-7.BSTR-29  * ERROR MSG TABLE MATCH (CC= 12) : SCMO-00  COMMAND COMPLETED AT 11:26:58 ON 22.276.
CA-7.BSTR-30  ERROR MSGS FOUND IN OUTPUT.  MSGS MATCHED=    1, HIGH CC= 12.

Why does the job end with RC=12 instead of 00.

There are no error messages found in the JCL.

Environment

Release : 12.1

Component : CA 7

Cause

Batch Interface Message Table - SASSXXBT

The SASSXXBT module is not executable. The module is a table of messages (or message prefixes) and condition codes to be associated with those messages. When the batch terminal interface (BTI) program or the CA 7 CAICCI or TCP/IP Batch Interface transfers the CA 7 command output from the output data set to SYSPRINT, each line is checked against the SASSXXBT table for matches. If an output line is matched with the table, CA 7 writes an information message to the ERRORS DD noting the text of the line that was matched and the associated condition code from the table.

At the end of BTI or CA 7 CAICCI or TCP/IP Batch Interface processing, if any output lines were matched against the table a WTO is issued indicating the number of messages matched and the highest condition code. The return code for the batch step is then set to the highest condition code matched.

Resolution

Review the SASSXXBT table of messages.

Rerun the BTI job specifying NOMCHK in the parameter list

NOMCHK
Suppresses BTI output message checking against the SASSXXBT message table. If this parameter is not specified
and a user-coded SASSXXBT table module is available, the message checking is done
