Environment

Cloud Workload protection agent

Windows & Linux

Resolution

The following table lists all the platforms and kernels where you can install the Cloud Workload Protection agent.
Few points for you to take note of are as follows:

  • To enable TLS 1.2 support in Windows 2008 R2, download and apply the fix MicrosoftEasyFix51044.msi that is available on update-to-enable-tls-1.1-and-tls-1.2-as-a-default-secure-protocols-in-winhttp-in-windows (No restart is required after you apply the fix) You must have Windows 2008 R2 SP1 installed
  • If the release version of Windows is listed as supported, then the Core edition is supported  (For example: if Windows Server 2016 is listed as supported then Windows Server 2016 Core is also supported
  • Only 64-bit kernels of the Linux platforms are supported, Cloud Workload Protection does not support the 32-bit kernels
  • The para-virtual (PV) systems on AWS are not supported For more information about PV systems, see virtualization_types.html
  • Though the older versions of the Amazon Linux AMI and its packages are available for launch in Amazon EC2, we recommend that you upgrade to the latest version of the AMI as suggested by AWS
  • On Azure, if you are deploying using the Azure CWP extension, then you must refer to the supported platforms here: Supported platforms for Azure virtual machine extension
  • Windows PowerShell 3.0 is a prerequisite for installing the Cloud Workload Protection agent on a Windows computer

Refer to the following sites for the kernels of all supported platforms:
