Issue/Introduction

When trying to run a client task job or task that includes the Control Service State task, you may receive an error stating: 

You don't have one or more of the permissions 'ManageServices' (xxx) on these computers

Environment

ITMS 8.6

Cause

The "Run Control Service State" and "Run Script" permissions in Security Role Manager were not enabled for the Computer resource type.

Resolution

You need to use Security Role Manager to add the missing permissions to the computer object.  In the screenshot below the default Computer object is shown.  You need to grant the "Run Control Service State" and "Run Script" permissions to the appropriate computer object for the security role:
