Ghost Solution Suite

Issue/Introduction

Customer upgraded to a new Server, and installed the latest version of Ghost Solution Suite - 3.3 and are seeing this error:
 
Failed to install License, Error- The License is for a version earlier than the version requested.
 
License file lists the following:

Symantec Ghost Solution Suite for Desktop and Notebook
3.2
150
PER-DEVICE
PERPETUAL
 
GSS License facts:
Perpetual licenses do not expire.
License file is only good for version specified
New license file is issued with yearly Maintenance (Annual Upgrade Protection).
 

Resolution

License files can be Perpetual, meaning that they are good for as long as you have the product. It is not possible to use older licenses with a newer GSS Version than the License.  Check the Broadcom Support Portal and see if you have a new license under My Entitlements.

If there are no Licenses available, use the bottom option in the Portal to Contact Support. 

You have these 2 options when contacting Broadcom about a license:

  1. If a license file is needed, please call or log a case with Broadcom's Customer Care team.  They can look up License entitlements.
  2. If assistance is needed with installing or removing a License, please call or open a case with Broadcom Support.
