Issue/Introduction

VMSECURE abended with PXG102 (VMXPXG +42F2).   FORCE/AUTOLOG brought it back up without a problem.

Resolution

PXG102 due to problems with DASD.

Operator console confirmed numerous DASD related messages when the PXG102 occurred;

“HCPSVI6433I storage controller health message on device xxxx”  and  "HCPERP2229I PATHS DEGRADED"

 

The PXG102 ABEND indicates there was a physical problem with access to the DRCT volume. VMSECURE received a CC=1 trying to do I/O to the directory volume ... this indicates the device is not attached or the path to the device was lost.
