Issue/Introduction

What are the possible upgrade paths to migrate Symantec Data Loss Prevention (DLP) to version 16.0, 16.0.1, 16.0.2, 16.1, 25.1, 26.1?

Resolution

DLP 16.0 is only supported with Oracle 19c.
Ensure Oracle is upgraded to 19c before attempting to upgrade/migrate DLP to 16.0.

You can upgrade the Enforce and Detection Servers from 15.7 or 15.8 to 16.0.
Versions of DLP older than 15.7 will have to be upgraded to either 15.7 or 15.8 before upgrading to 16.0.

The situation with 16.0.1, 16.0.2, and 16.1 are a bit different.
Upgrade components must be at least on the 15.8 MP3 version.

Upgrade components must be least version 16.0.x. before upgrading to 25.1

Upgrade components must be least version 16.0.x. before upgrading to 26.1

 

Note: When upgrading from version 16.1, following the correct sequence is critical to avoid data loss and downtime. You must update all detection servers prior to upgrading the Enforce Server.
