Issue/Introduction

Windows firewall is not recognizing Symantec Endpoint protection as the antivirus.

The sepWscSvc service failed to start due to the following error:
Windows cannot verify the digital signature for this file. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged,
or that might be malicious software from an unknown source.

Environment

Release : 14.3x

Cause

The sepWscSvc process is unable to connect to Windows Defender.

Resolution

Enabled the ELAM feature in the AV policy. This allowed the sepWscSvc process to connect with Windows Defender and provide proper feedback.
