Vantage Storage Resource Manager

Issue/Introduction

In Vantage 14.0 the LOGPFX parameter supplies the HLQ or dataset to be prefixed for the logging records of the Vantage objects, but it appears this parameter has been deprecated in Vantage 14.1.  How is the logging of objects handled in Vantage 14.1 (i.e., what data set name prefix is being used for the logging files)?

Environment

Release : 14.1

Component : Vantage Storage Resource Manager

Cause

The LOGPFX Vantage parameter has been deprecated in Vantage 14.1.

Resolution

Starting with Vantage 6.0, the LOGPFX parameter was replaced with the TRENDPFX parameter.  In Vantage 14.1, the LOGPFX parameter will no longer be recognized as being valid and will thus issue the following message during Vantage start up if this parameter is still being specified in VKGPARMS:

VAN0007E VANTAGE SYSTEM PARAMETER LOGPFX IS UNKNOWN
