Issue/Introduction

One of our customers asked us to encrypt the passwords for JDBC database connections reported in the .properties files of applications developed with Plex.

Something like that: Environment.Default.Password=5YUHY3sslnoPLQ7PK2sVdA==

instead of Environment.Default.Password=mypassword

Is it possible to do it and how?

Environment

Release : 7.21

Component : Plex

Resolution

1. Installing Build 24.005 is a required first step and then applying Hyper Fix for CA Plex r7.2.1 Build 24.005. Once the Hyper Fix is applied, you should see the files and the ReadMe document which has instructions on how to implement the password encryption. The attached KB articles are for Build24.005 and the link for the Hyper fix.

2. The solution to this request has been provided since the recent PTF build (Plex r7.2.1 PTF 005 + HyperFix). Solution 2596 reference provided at: https://support.broadcom.com/web/ecx/problemdetails?componentcode=CPLEX&problemno=2596
