Issue/Introduction

In the initialization parm, we already have 2 lpars mentioned under Sx SID=.  Now the 3rd lpar is being added and this has to be DR tested, can we include the 3rd lpar under 'SID=' in PROD, so that when ever a split happens the task on the new lpar will not fail?

Resolution

Including a new Sx SID parameter in the ESFPARM will require a COLD start no matter if the new system exists or not. As you know, a COLD start will purge all files currently in Spool so if you are going this path you need to backup the spool contents using the ESFSPTP utility.

In summary a statement like below is included in the ESFPARM, the next start of the Spool started task will have to use the COLD option.
