Issue/Introduction

Unable to delete data set which shows to have no users?

Resolution

If you try to delete a data set on the DB.6 screen which shows to have no users on the LDSN,LIST=NOUSERS command output and get the message DSN HAS USERS -- CANNOT DELETE, check the LDSN output for that data set. If there is a non-zero value in the #RQ field of the LDSN output, you cannot delete this data set on the DB.6 screen.

LDSN,DSNBR=DS166
LIST=DSN    DSNBR=DS166                                DATE yy.ddd    PAGE 0001

--------------- DATASET NAME ---------------   DSNBR    PPNBR  POSTTM  DSTYPE
     DSORG   RECFM   LRECL  BLKSZ  DEVTYP  J-USE  J-CRT  #RQ   MDATE/TIME MTYPE

A.B.C ......................................  00000166  *NONE*  JTERM EXTL,AUTO
                     00000  00000  DASD    00000  00000  0001  09057/1226  DBM

The 0001 under #RQ above means that one job had this data set manually added as a requirement on the CA-7 DATA SET PREDECESSORS (DB.3.1) screen.
