Issue/Introduction

What characters can be used for SSKEY in ptktdata ssignon profile records in ACF2?

Environment

Release : 16.0

Component : ACF2 for z/OS

Resolution

SSKEY(key-value)
A 16-character hexadecimal representation of the 8-byte encryption key for this application.
This encryption key must match the encryption key that is defined on the workstation.
Pertains to legacy PassTickets only.
To protect encryption keys from disclosure when PTKTDATA records are listed, the SSKEY field value is displayed as "*SUPPRESSED*".
The following sample message displays when a PTKTDATA record is listed:
SSIGNON / TSOSYS2 LAST CHANGED BY ACFUSER ON 04/18/21-11:51 MULT-USE SSKEY(*SUPPRESSED*)

The 16 character hexadecimal representation of the 8-byte encryption key
does not need to be actual characters

e.g. it could be ABCDEFGH in EBCDIC
which converts to C1C2C3C4C5C6C7C8 in HEX

or it could be unrelated to any real characters

eg A1e77f0e00001234
