Cross-Plex information compatibility between version 14.0 and 13.5

Issue/Introduction

Currently, we are running with two different SYSPLEX environments, namely DEVPLEX(2 systems) and PRDPLEX(6 systems) with OPSMVS 13.5.

This weekend, we are planning to upgrade DEVPLEX's OPSMVS from 13.5 to 14.0.4 and we would like to understand, will the cross-plex information between two different OSPMVS versions (ie. 14.0.4 from DEVPLEX to 13.05 PRDPLEX and vice versa) still work ?

Resolution

Cross-plex MSF functions between OPS/MVS 13.5 and 14.0 regions should still function as expected, however, there is one possible exception dependent upon maintenance levels.

There was a recent issue discovered with cross-plex OPSLOG viewing failures that were the result of OPS/MVS 14.0 PTF LU05807 having been applied. LU05807 made a change to the OPSM macro that caused incompatibilities between regions where it was applied and regions where it was not. LU05807 has since been PE'ed and replaced by fixing PTF LU07051 (If you use the MTC-A feature then LU07052 is also required.)

If LU05807 has been applied to OPS/MVS 14.0 regions and LU07051 (and LU07052) have not been applied, then cross-plex OPSLOG viewing issues can occur between the 13.5 and 14.0 regions.
