When trying to run a InterTest Batch JCL conversion for the first time, an empty panel is shown when the JCL member is selected.
What is the reason for this and how could this be corrected?
Before you begin a InterTest Batch foreground debugging session you must allocate the data sets being used by your program.
To do this, select the following options from the InterTest Batch PRIMARY OPTION MENU:
3 Allocation - Allocations and JCL Conversion
followed by option
2 JCL - Browse and Convert JCL
Option 2 requires you to provide a PDS that contains the JCL to be converted. InterTest Batch displays the JCL member selection list panel and the user selects the JCL member to be converted. However, after selecting the member and pressing ENTER, the JCL member selected is not displayed on the ISPF panel.
The most likely reason for this is that the JCLCheck product libraries are not allocated to the users TSO session.
The InterTest for Batch allocations and JCL Conversion options require the JCLCheck product to be installed and available to the users TSO session. There are two versions of JCLCheck available for use with InterTest Batch:
- JCLCheck Workload Automation
- JCLCheck Common Component
JCLCheck Common Component is a subset of the (full) licensed JCLCheck Workload Automation product.
JCLCheck Common Component is available for download with the InterTest Batch base product package at no additional cost.
To resolve the problem outlined above one of the JCLCheck products must be installed and allocated to the users TSO session.
If you use JCLCheck Common Component and it is not in the LINKLIST or STEPLIB, you must use TSOLIB ACTIVATE to add it to the TSO search order for your InterTest Batch session.
Note: If you already have the full product JCLCheck Workload Automation, there is no need to install the JCLCheck Common Component.
