Issue/Introduction

Issue while Publish command in the Policy server, the outcome of this command is:

./smpolicysrv -publish <publish.xml>

Publishing data to file <publish.xml>

The specified server is not currently running

 

Environment

Release : 12.8.x

Component : SiteMinder Policy Server

Cause

The stats and other parameters are locked before publishing so , policy server services restart is required before publishing.

Resolution

-> Execute the publish command

-> Stop / Start the policy server services to take effect of the publishing file in the sm.registry.
