Issue/Introduction

Is recycling of the OPSMVS task required when allocating a new larger ruleset dataset with a new DSNAME and then renaming it to old name?

Resolution

OPS/MVS dynamically allocates rules datasets as needed, and frees them when finished reading or updating.  As a result, no there is no outstanding ENQ held by the OPS address space on qname SYSDSN for rules datasets.  You should be able to rename a rules dataset without shutting down OPS.
