MCF files what are the share options required when using Lserv

It appears that all the MCFs were created with SHROPTS(1,3)

Error VSAM SHAREOPTION ERROR. DSN=HLQ.XXX.MCF

This message tells us that the VSAM share options for the file named in the message itself, are not correct for the type of access being attempted.

The correct shareoptions are:
- For VSAM access, they must be (3,3) or (4,3)
- For access via CA-LSERV or VSAM RLS, they must be (1,3) or (2,3)

Since you say you are using LSERV you need to ensure that the started task is active.

 VSAM shareoptions determine whether a cluster may be opened via VSAM or via LSERV. Shareoptions (1 3) or (2 3) require LSERV or VSAM RLS to open the cluster. Shareoptions (3 3) or (4 3) cannot use LSERV nor RLS and are open by native VSAM.
