Issue/Introduction

Hello Team,

We are using  Symantec Identity Manager version 14.4.0 in our environment which is installed on Windows 2016 server.

While trying to deploy CP-Patch-Deployer tool to upgrade the version to 14.4.1 using CP-IM-1441 patch, we are getting this error:

FATAL error occurred. Cannot proceed further....

Invalid patch folder path: C:CACP-IM-1441CP-PATCH-DEPLOYER-TOOL-1441PatchDeployerTool Please verify value in CPDeployer.properties file.

Environment

Release : 14.4

Component :

Cause

When run on Windows, Patch Deployer Tool considers backslash (\) in a path to be an escape character, not a literal backslash.

There is no such problem on Linux as a path uses forward slash character (/)

Resolution

Please use double backslash (\\) as a path delimiter.

So the path from the above error should look like this in CPDeployer.properties file:

C:\\CA\\CP-IM-1441\\CP-PATCH-DEPLOYER-TOOL-1441\\PatchDeployerTool
