Jaspersoft Performance Issues during Adhoc View Data sources selection

Issue/Introduction

We have noticed a performance issue with Jaspersoft 7.8 with the Data Sources screen when creating a new AdHoc view. This happens on Large repositories.

Environment

Release : 16.0.2

Component : Clarity Jaspersoft

Cause

This is caused by database calls to check for all possible Adhoc View Data sources.

Jasper Server Version : 7.8

Resolution

Below is a workaround to disable Topics which are unnecessary.

  1. Login to Jasper Server and stop the services 
  2. Edit the file $TOMCAT_HOME/webapps/reportservice/WEB-INF/applicationContext-pro-settings.xml.
  3. Find the ID "adhocSettings" and comment out "topic". Below is a screenshot of the change.

  4. Restart Jasper Service.
