Print detection fails when printing via an embedded print button

Issue/Introduction

DLP fails to detect sensitive data sent to print when printing via an embedded print button in an application webpage opened in Chrome or Edge browser. 

If the user would print via browser's menu -> Print or Ctrl+P, then detection works. 

Environment

Release : All versions of 15.8

Component : Endpoint Agent

Cause

This is a product limitation. 

The application webpage uses the window.print() function which DLP was not designed to monitor.

Resolution

This type of print monitoring is not currently supported for Chrome or Edge browsers.
