While upgrading Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM) to version 14.3 RU5, an error occurrs:
"The Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager reporting account does not connect to the Microsoft SQL Server database. You must recreate or modify the reporting account in SQL Server Management Studio. Then run the Management Server Configuration Wizard again".
The workaround proposed in "Resolving Microsoft SQL Server database connection errors after 14.3 RU5 or later installation or upgrade" does not work.
SEPM installed and connected to a Remote SQL server.
This issue happens only on SEPMs connected to a remote SQL server (authentication method: windows authentication).
When OS user logged in with different domain account than the domain account which used to install fresh SEPM.
This issue was rectified from version 14.3 RU6 and above.
