Issue/Introduction

This article outlines the procedure for creating a new administrative user with permissions equivalent to the default etaadmin account. This is a common requirement for organizations needing to manage access to the Identity Manager Provisioning Manager and Provisioning Store while maintaining separate administrative credentials.

Environment

Identity Manager 14.x & 15

Resolution

To create a new administrative user by duplicating the etaadmin profile, follow these steps:

  1. Launch the Provisioning Manager console.
  2. Navigate to the Global Users list and search for the etaadmin account.
  3. Right-click on the etaadmin entry and select the Duplicate option.
  4. Enter the required details for the new user, including:
    • Global User Name
    • Account Name
    • First and Last Name
    • New Password
  5. Once the new user account is created, navigate to the Administrative Privileges tab for both the etaadmin user and the new user account.
  6. Compare the privileges and manually assign the necessary permissions to the new user to ensure they have the required access for Provisioning Manager and Store operations.
