LiveUpdate runs every hour unexpectedly after install

Issue/Introduction

After install Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) 14.3 RU4 client, LiveUpdate runs every hour unexpectedly even though LiveUpdate schedule is configured as "Every 4 hours" in LiveUpdate policy.

C:\ProgramData\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\CurrentVersion\Data\Definitions\SEPDefs folder exists but there is no usage.dat file in it.

Environment

• SEP 14.3 RU4 client

Resolution

Work-around:

Uncheck [Download client patches] in LiveUpdate policy - [Windows Settings] - [Advanced Settings].
